A notable feature of this mezcal is the Cuishe agave, which unlike most maguey, displays a long vertical stem with sugars concentrated near the top where the pencas (leaves) remain green and spiky. Once these leaves are cut, the Cuishe agave resembles a barrel, earning it the additional moniker ‘Barril’. This meticulous process lends a unique profile to this mezcal, an expression that seamlessly merges tradition with innovation.
