High Coast 63 is a bold, heavily peated single malt crafted to celebrate the latitude of the distillery—63°N. Everything about this release revolves around the number 63, from the 63 PPM peat level to its 63-month maturation in custom 63-liter bourbon casks, aged 63 decimeters above ground in Warehouse No. 3.
The whisky is distilled using water from Bålsjön and aged in re-coopered barrels made from first-fill 200-liter bourbon casks. These casks were rebonded down to 63L by a Swedish cooper born in 1963. The final spirit is bottled at a commanding 63% ABV, delivering an unforgettable experience that reflects its precision and northern heritage.
Nose: Deep peat smoke, honey-glazed ham, burnt sugar, and dried citrus peel.Palate: Full-bodied and warming with intense smoke, charred oak, rich toffee, and hints of brine.Finish: Long, smoky, and slightly dry with waves of sweet malt and lingering vanilla ash.
